Fundraising
The Fundraising group is a small group within the church that coordinates fundraising activities in support of other charities and church projects.
The group was first formed to raise funds for the refurbishment of our church. When that was successfully completed in 2001 we decided to put our energy, and the skills and opportunities that we had built up, towards fundraising for causes that reflected our concern for God’s world.
Our primary role is therefore to raise money for charitable causes and church projects. We also organise events that bring the church family together socially and show a presence in the community.
Some of the recent funds raised have been directed towards our aims for the Church’s ECO awards. We raised sufficient money to have solar panels installed on the roof of the main hall and also to have double glazed windows fitted to the south side of the hall. We are now raising money to do the same on the north side.
We continue to support local and national charities Action for Children, Baby Basics, The Extra Mile, Macmillan, All We Can and our local foodbank. This year we are also supporting the British Red Cross Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal
- We show a presence in the community at Molesey Carnival where we run a book stall.
- We hold concerts catering for different musical tastes with talented performers such as “Follow the Son” and the “John Hackett” bands.
- Friday Film Nights are very popular and run from the autumn to the spring. Tea / coffee and biscuits are served before the film begins.
